- Quidditch: Her entire life she has lived and breathed Quidditch. Her father always joked that she 'could ride a broom before she could walk'. She went to her first professional game when she was five years old and could tell you the names of every player on every team by the time she was six. She was in her second year when she made the Quidditch team at Hogwarts and went on to play professionally until she retired in late 2000 and went to work at the Ministry.
- Muggle Cars: She has Muggle blood on either side of her parents' family (her father being half-blood and her mother Muggle-born) and learned to drive a car when she was sixteen. Her older Muggle cousin taught her a bit about mechanics over the years.
- Traveling: Katie loves to learn new things about new places. She traveled a bit during the few months between her graduation and when she went into hiding during the second Wizarding war. She especially loved her time in America and all of the American accents.
- Kids: Katie was always fond of kids and always wanted a little brother or sister, unfortunately that never happened. When she was in her later years at Hogwarts she was a bit of a mentor figure to the younger kids.
- Sweets: She loves any kind of sweet, although she has a penchant for Muggle sweets, especially the sour kinds. Her mother always scolded her for eating too much sugar and feared she would get bad teeth because of it.
- Brooms: Katie always had a love of brooms, wanting to know how they worked. At one time in her life, when she was thirteen or fourteen, she'd convinced herself that if her Quidditch career didn't take off she would become a broom maker and make the next 'Firebolt'. She sometimes does think up broom ideas in her spare time... which isn't a lot.
- Late Nights: Katie is a night owl and will often stay up until the early morning hours, either at her store taking care of inventory or relaxing at home with a cup of tea and a good book. She works best at night and her usual bedtime is at around one or two in the morning at the earliest.
- Transfiguration: While Katie was never very studious, she always did average in her classes. Her favorite was always Transfiguration; it was the only class she got an O in during her NEWTs. She also likes Charms. History of Magic was interesting too, but she didn't like the Professor at Hogwarts (like most). Most of her liking of the subject came from her own reading during her free time at school.
- A fast pace: She is fast by nature, physically and in any other aspect of her life. She is fast on a broom, fast on her feet and always searching to move through life and do all sorts of things as fast as she can. She's a 'live in the moment' kind of girl who hardly looks around when she does so.
- Owls: She had an owl her entire life, although not necessarily the same. When she was born her parents each had an owl and when she was eight she got her own. Her parents got her a new owl named Scratch when she was in her sixth year at Hogwarts and she still has him six years later.
dislikes;;
- Hot weather: Summer is by far not Katie's favorite season. She gets hot easily and prefers to warm up during winter when she's cold than cool down when she's hot. It's a tedious task and sweat is just gross.
- Dark Magic: Katie may be on the harder 'I don't want any of your crap' side when it comes to personality, but she's a good person who wants nothing but good for her friends and loved ones. Having dealt with the second war and all of the events prior to it and the clean-up that followed, she has no tolerance for dark magic and will gladly tell anyone her thoughts on dark wizards.
- Slytherins: Like a lot of people from her generation and the generations that preceded hers, she has a stereotypical view of the Slytherin folk: egotistic, bad, death eater-wannabes. Then there's the fact that she's a Gryffindor and is used to the Gryffindor/Slytherin rivalry she had to endure for seven whole years.
- Stubborn brooms: Being stubborn herself, not to mention fast-paced, she doesn't like brooms who don't want to cooperate with her. She can get very temperamental when it comes to this.
- Fire-whiskey: She hates it – ever since she and a friend from Hogwarts stole some from her father's study during the summer before her Fifth year, she has been repulsed by the drink.
- Whining: Katie cannot stand prissy people who whine all the time. Especially when it's about senseless things like a broken nail or not getting exactly what they want.
- Mornings: Unless she's had her coffee, don't even glance at Katie when she first gets up or else you'll face her wraith. She is always very grouchy in the morning – maybe because she is such a night owl. She loves to sleep in, although as of late, with a young son, she hasn't had many opportunities to do that.
- Ancient Runes: It's one of the electives she took at Hogwarts and hated every moment of it. She never made it to NEWT level and didn't care one bit.
- Spicy foods: She just doesn't like it – the burning in her mouth and throat doesn't appeal to her one bit, kind of like why she doesn't like fire-whiskey.
- Technology: So maybe cars could be considered as technology to some, but not Katie. Because she absolutely hates any kind of Muggle gadget. She can't seem to figure out how to work these things called MP3 players or I-pods and certainly wouldn't ever try an actual computer. Her Muggle blood doesn't go that deep in her veins.
strengths;;
- Strong:Katie was always and still is a strong person, both physically and emotionally – especially emotionally. She doesn't show much weakness and when she does it's usually for a very damn good reason. She knows how to stay cool and collected under pressure. She works out a lot and has been playing Quidditch for as long as she can remember, which is where her physical strength stems from.
- Quick-witted: While not as smart as a Ravenclaw or as cunning as a Slytherin, Katie is quick to think up different scenarios, which always made her a good strategist for Quidditch. It also made her good with coming up with great insults to fling at her enemies at Hogwarts.
- Protective: Katie was always very protective of her friends and loved ones, from the time she was a little girl up until now. She would never betray her friends, even if it meant her own death. This would also make her brave and selfless, two more traits that a lot of people would use to define Katie.
- Motherly: Katie was always fantastic with kids and always loved to take care of them. She never had any younger siblings or cousins, but she would often babysit neighbors' kids over the summers as a teenager. Even at Hogwarts she was quick to take on the responsibility of younger Gryffindors and still keeps in touch with some of them to this day.
weaknesses;;
- Demanding: Katie generally doesn't push people, but when it comes to herself she expects the best and is easily disappointed when she fails or doesn't do all that great when it comes to the things she loves – Quidditch specifically. She does not want people to be disappointed in her, especially not her family and friends.
- Stubborn: When Katie sets her mind up to something not even she can change her own mind. She goes after what she wants at full force without ever looking back. She also doesn't take 'no' for an answer and can often get on people's bad side because of this.
- Messy: Katie's stuff is all over the place, to the point where she can hardly find her things in her apartment. Her parents always grounded her when she was young because her room was always such a mess. At school her roommates couldn't stand that she always left everything in such a mess. Fortunately she is still clean and her apartment is far from actually dirty.
- Impulsive: Katie often finds herself acting without thinking, especially when she is feeling strongly about something or someone. She has a habit of saying things before her mind processes it – in other words she lacks any kind of filter, and it's usually what gets her into trouble.

rp sample;;Hunter scowled as he surveyed the manila folder that had been dropped on his desk minutes ago. He glanced at the lab technician, who seemed to wither slightly under his sharp glance. She was new – a twenty-four year-old blonde with feminine features, quite a bit of make-up and a fancy outfit under that lab coat of hers. She looked as though she could have been a cheerleader back in high school, not a science geek.
"Thank you." Hunter said tonelessly, leaning back into his chair, his body language dismissing her. At least, most of his colleagues knew the signs of dismissal after working with him for a few years. Apparently she didn't, because she just stood there like a lost puppy with her hands pressed together in front of her, eying him questioningly. "Anything else?" were his words. When she shook her head, he rolled his eyes. "Then please, feel free to leave." he told her coolly.
It was one of those days where he was in a really bad mood, perhaps because he was so caffeine deprived. He had been working non-stop these the past 48 hours to try and catch this perp but so far every lead had turned out cold... No pun intended.
You see, the thing about this case that made it so painstakingly difficult was the fact that it was evident that a Special was behind it. Apparently someone with the ability to manipulate ice. Last Saturday night a body frozen solid had been discovered in the very warm basement parking garage of a building a few streets away from the precinct. There had been trace amounts of blood that did not belong to the victim, as well as signs of struggle after the autopsy had been completed. The perp didn't seem to have registered with the government either, because he (or she) wasn't in the system according to the files he had been handed moments ago.
He was disappointed – and in need of coffee.
Rubbing the back of his neck, trying to relieve the ache in his muscles, he couldn't help but sigh. His shift was nearing its end, but hours meant nothing to him these days. He was the type that could be found working overnight and living off of caffeine for a number of days; so as he got detective Daniels – his partner – on the phone and informed him of the new evidence they'd gotten, he knew for a fact that he wouldn't be heading home until at least ten o'clock tonight. "We may have a suspect – if not then a witness. Security tape shows a man in the vicinity. Homeless, hairy... dirty looking. His hair was found on John Doe's clothes. Theodore Clarke. That's homeless guy's name." he stated gruffly, stiffing a yawn.
Theodore Clarke was a man in his late twenties with two previous convictions for assault and battery as well as drug possession. He did not look like the type to be anywhere near powerful enough to freeze a human being to death, but a lead was a lead and at this point Hunter wasn't leaving anything out. He had seen too much in his short career span to ever do that.
It was 8:32pm when Hunter left the police station, a little earlier than he would have anticipated, but then again he had been forced to leave. It seemed to be a pattern lately; his superiors finding him staring at paperwork or looking at evidence and trying to put pieces together – the only thing they could do was to kick him out, threatening his job if he didn't sleep on it. He was worth more on a full tank anyway. At first Hunter would protest, as usual, but after twenty minutes he'd find an excuse to agree.
With his gun and badge still on him, Hunter yawned again as he reached the nearest subway station at a lazy walk. By 8:52pm, the homicide detective was sitting in the near-empty subway, with an elderly woman a few feet to his left knitting, and a gruff-looking man talking on an old, battered cell phone to his right. A pregnant woman was sitting all by her lonesome self in the seat opposite his. She was eying him awkwardly.
It was only after the ride that things really heated up.
Hunter was sure his night was over. Minutes later he would find himself enjoying a scalding hot shower to relieve two days' worth of tension, only to sleeping for three or four hours before starting all over again.
Two men, a gun and a bullet decided to make things a little more complicated.
Hunter cussed as he heard the gunshot and then the sound of people screaming. He caught a glimpse of the body as it crumpled down to the ground, and then the shooter as he darted for the exit.
"Call 911!"
Hunter didn't stick around to examine the body. He wasn't a paramedic or a doctor or anything. He knew if he could do one good thing, it was what his job asked of him – catch the bad guys. So he began running.
"Out of the way! Fuck – NYPD! Hey! Don't move! NYPD!" Hunter cursed some more under his breath as he avoided colliding with a young couple. "And here I thought I was going to get to go and have a good night's sleep!" he yelled out as the shooter continued running. It was a matter of time before they reached the stairs leading to the street above. Hunter knew that in a few seconds he'd lose him to the crowd. He quickened his pace and managed to grab a hold of the guy's jacket, pulling him down with him. Hunter cursed again.
"Keeping me from my cozy bed, ripping my jeans and getting blood all over my shirt? That's a life sentence right there, buddy." he said as he pulled a pair of handcuffs from his belt. Of course he was kidding around, but not necessarily about the life-sentence thing. One thing Hunter did know was that this guy would be in custody for a little while at least.
