Being a girl that was usually surrounded by the noise of gossip and shrill laughter it was nice to have a few moments alone. But of course whenever Pansy wanted to be left to her own thoughts it never lasted. Her eyes flicking open when she heard a noise coming from the stairwell. As she let out an irritated sigh she turned her attention toward the girl she used to hate but had become friends with, Constance McCarthy. "Still unsuccessful at trying to spy on me Constance?" Pansy stated flatly. Pansy was not being mean to the girl with her comment, this was the usual manner in which Pansy spoke to her mates.
Adjusting her gaze toward the scenery before them, Pansy wanted to ignore the girl's question. In all honesty it was none of Constance's business to know what she was thinking about, but friends did always ask those sorts of questions. Was she obligated to pour her heart out about her mother's death to one of her newer friends? Of course not! Pansy rarely even spoke about this to Draco or Blaise. Her mother's death was her own demon that she had to overcome on her own.
"Nothing really, just my transfiguration essay that's due next week." Pansy shrugged. "I actually want to get high marks this year and I can't do that in the common room. You know how all the girls feel the need to crowd around me to tell me all the latest gossip thinking it might earn them ranking points." Pansy added, a small smile crossed her thin pink lips. "It's sad really, almost all of them will get lost in the shuffle. They don't seem to realize I'm not interested in who tells me what, as long as I'm told." she laughed.
Pansy was thankful that Constance didn't really know her well enough to know if she was lying, they hadn't been friends that long. Actually the two had been serve enemies during their first three years, but Constance was one of the few that didn't blame Pansy for changing some after her mother's death. It was in their fifth year that Pansy truly started to like the girl despite her views on accepting all blood as equal.
"What has you sneaking up here, Constance? Or were you really following me?' Pansy questioned, throwing a playful smile in her friend's direction.
